Author Guidelines

Jentera: Jurnal Hukum is published by the Indonesia Jentera School of Law, focusing on issues of law and policy reform in Indonesia. Since its first publication in 2017, the journal has become a reference for information and analyses on Law and Policy in Indonesia with more popular language options. The Journal is committed to providing a platform for more significant discourse and understanding of legal developments in the sector.

The Editorial Team hereby extends an invitation to prospective contributors who wish to partake in the composition of manuscripts for the Journal, subject to the following provisions:

  1. The short title of the manuscript is limited to 10 words and is intended to encapsulate the contents and essence of the writing. It is typed in capital letters (uppercase) and in bold font.

    Example 1: LEGAL PROTECTION FOR WORKERS AND BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY OF SINGLE-OWNER LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY
    Example 2: PELINDUNGAN HUKUM BAGI TENAGA KERJA DAN KEBERLANJUTAN USAHA PERSEROAN PERORANGAN

  2. The author's name is typed in full, omitting any title or position, followed by the author's institutional affiliation and email addresses. In the event that there are multiple authors, subsequent authors are listed in sequential order. The author's institution is typed in italics. In instances where the author's institution is the same as the institution of another author, only one institution name is required.

  3. Each manuscript must include an abstract. The abstract should be a concise summary of the paper, limited to one paragraph with a maximum word count of 250 words. Please note that the abstract should be written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. For abstracts written in Bahasa Indonesia, the use of italics is mandatory. Both abstract versions are to be placed at the beginning of the article, underneath the author's title, name, and affiliation.

  4. The font for the abstract is Times New Roman, size 11, with a single space.

  5. Keywords should be listed below the abstract, with a maximum of five. These keywords describe the concepts in the article and facilitate its indexing by online search engines.

  6. The manuscript is to be typed in English using the MS Word program. Manuscript written in Bahasa Indonesia is also welcomed.

  7. The manuscript's font must be Times New Roman, size 12, with a spacing of 1.15 on A4 paper. The text may be accompanied by images, tables, and other elements. The length of the manuscript should be between 6,000 and 10,000 words, inclusive of text and footnotes, with the exception of the bibliography. It is imperative to note that submitted manuscripts must not be previously published, not currently under review by other publications, and must not be submitted concurrently to other publications.

  8. The style of citation employed must adhere to the footnote model. The font size for footnotes should be set at 10 pt in the Times New Roman font. The citation procedure aligns with the Chicago citation standard, also known as the Chicago Style of Citation.   9. The bibliography is placed at the end of the writing, employing the Times New Roman font, size 12, and a spacing of 1.15. The composition of a bibliography is conducted in accordance with the alphabetical sequence, from A to Z, without the necessity of categorizing library sources, including but not limited to books, legal statutes, and news media.

  10. Please include a short biography of no more than 150 words at the end of the article, after the bibliography.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
